The Best of Both Worlds

Reconditioned IBC totes bridge the gap between used and new. You get near-new performance and appearance at a significant discount compared to factory-fresh containers. Our reconditioning process is so thorough that many customers cannot tell the difference between our reconditioned totes and brand new ones.

Every reconditioned tote goes through a rigorous six-step process that addresses every component — from the HDPE bottle to the steel cage to the valve assembly. We replace all wear items, clean to food-adjacent standards, and pressure-test every single unit. The result is a container you can trust for demanding applications.

The economics are compelling. A new 275-gallon IBC tote typically costs $280-$350 depending on configuration. Our reconditioned totes offer the same functionality at 40-50% less. For a business purchasing 50 totes per quarter, that is $7,000-$8,750 in savings — every quarter. Over a year, you are looking at $28,000-$35,000 in reduced container costs with zero compromise on quality.

Environmentally, reconditioned totes are the sweet spot. They require only 15% of the energy needed to manufacture a new tote from virgin materials. The cleaning process uses our closed-loop water recycling system, consuming 80% less freshwater than single-pass systems. It is the most resource-efficient way to get a reliable, clean container.

Our 6-Step Reconditioning Process

1

Intake & Assessment

Every tote is visually inspected for structural damage, contamination history, and overall condition. Containers with irreparable damage are diverted to material recycling. We assess bottle wall thickness with calipers and test cage rigidity at stress points.

2

Complete Disassembly

The bottle is carefully removed from the cage. Valves, caps, gaskets, and label holders are stripped. Each component is assessed independently for repair or replacement potential. Nothing is overlooked.

3

Triple-Wash Cleaning

Stage 1: 150°F alkaline wash removes organics. Stage 2: citric acid rinse neutralizes residue and dissolves mineral scale. Stage 3: high-pressure freshwater rinse. All agents are biodegradable. Total wash time: 45 minutes per tote.

4

Cage Repair & Coating

Bent bars are hydraulically straightened. Surface rust is removed with wire brushing and treated with zinc-rich primer. Severely corroded sections are cut and re-welded. The cage must pass a visual and load-bearing inspection.

5

New Components Installed

Every reconditioned tote receives a brand-new 2" butterfly valve assembly, new EPDM gaskets, a new dust cap, and a new tamper-evident seal. The top fill lid gets a new gasket as well.

6

Pressure Test & Final QC

Each tote is filled with water to capacity and held for 2 hours to verify zero leaks. A final quality inspection covers 22 checkpoints including valve torque, cage alignment, pallet stability, and cosmetic appearance.

When to Choose Reconditioned

  • You need a clean, presentable container for customer-facing operations or retail environments
  • Your application requires a leak-free guarantee backed by pressure testing and new valve components
  • You want used pricing but are not comfortable with cosmetic imperfections or unknown cleaning history
  • Regulatory or company policies require containers in verified good condition with documentation
  • You are storing food-adjacent materials and need documented professional cleaning
  • You need containers that look uniform for a professional operation or event
  • Your insurance or safety officer requires documented reconditioning of reused containers
  • You are reselling or redistributing containers and need them to look their best

Our Reconditioning Guarantee

Every reconditioned tote comes with a 90-day guarantee covering valve function, leak-free performance, and cage structural integrity. If anything fails under normal use within that period, we replace the entire tote at no cost.
