Eco-First
120 lbs saved per tote recycled.
Every great business starts with a problem worth solving. For Destin IBC Recycle, that problem was waste — specifically, the staggering number of Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC totes) being discarded across the Florida Gulf Coast every single year.
Our founders spent years working in manufacturing and logistics along the Emerald Coast. They watched as facility after facility sent barely-used IBC totes to the landfill, simply because there was no convenient, reliable way to resell, recycle, or recondition them. The containers were structurally sound, the cages intact, the valves functional — but without a dedicated recovery infrastructure, they were treated as disposable.
That observation became an obsession. What if there were a company that could collect these containers, inspect and grade them, clean and recondition them where needed, and put them back into productive use? What if that company could serve as the missing link in a circular economy for industrial containers?
Our Journey
The Spark
Our founders noticed hundreds of perfectly usable IBC totes being scrapped at local manufacturing facilities along the Emerald Coast. The idea for a dedicated IBC recycling operation was born.
First Facility
We opened our first facility in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Starting with just a handful of employees and a small yard, we began collecting, inspecting, and reselling used IBC totes to local businesses.
Growing Demand
Even during the pandemic, demand for cost-effective containers surged. We expanded our cleaning and reconditioning capabilities, adding professional triple-wash stations and pressure testing equipment.
Regional Expansion
Our pickup and delivery network expanded to cover the entire Florida panhandle, southern Alabama, and parts of Georgia and Mississippi. We processed our 10,000th IBC tote.
Sustainability Milestone
We achieved a 98% material recovery rate — meaning nearly everything we touch is reused or recycled. We also launched our repurposing division, turning damaged totes into garden systems and storage solutions.
Industry Recognition
Destin IBC Recycle became one of the most recognized names in IBC recycling across the Southeast US, serving over 500 businesses from sole proprietors to Fortune 500 companies.
Looking Forward
We continue to invest in cleaner processes, wider coverage, and deeper inventory. Our mission remains the same: keep IBC totes out of landfills and in the circular economy where they belong.
Our Story Is Still Being Written
We are always looking for new partners, new territories to serve, and new ways to keep IBC totes out of landfills. Want to be part of our next chapter?
