A single IBC tote contains approximately 50 pounds of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and 70 pounds of galvanized steel. When that container goes to a landfill, all of those materials — plus the energy, water, and emissions used to produce them — are wasted forever.

Our mission is to make sure that never happens unnecessarily. Through inspection, grading, cleaning, reconditioning, and creative repurposing, we extract every possible use from every IBC tote we handle. Only when a container is truly beyond reuse do we break it down for material recycling — and even then, we recover 98% of the materials.

Our Green Practices

Water Recycling in Cleaning

Our cleaning facility uses a closed-loop water recycling system. Wash water is filtered, treated, and reused, reducing our freshwater consumption by over 80% compared to single-pass cleaning systems. Residual wastewater is properly treated before any discharge.

Material Recovery & Separation

When a tote reaches end of reusable life, we carefully separate the HDPE bottle from the steel cage and pallet. Each material stream goes to specialized recyclers who convert them into new products — the plastic into pellets for manufacturing, the steel back into the metals supply chain.

Low-Emission Logistics

We plan our pickup and delivery routes to minimize fuel consumption and emissions. By consolidating pickups and using regional staging areas, we reduce the total miles driven per tote collected. We are also evaluating electric and hybrid vehicles for our local fleet.

Biodegradable Cleaning Agents

All of our cleaning chemicals are biodegradable and non-toxic. We have eliminated harsh solvents from our reconditioning process, replacing them with plant-based cleaners that are just as effective without the environmental or health risks.

Zero-Landfill Goal

We currently divert 98% of all materials from landfill. The remaining 2% consists of heavily contaminated components that cannot be safely recycled. We are actively researching solutions for that last 2%, including partnerships with specialty recyclers.

Carbon Footprint Tracking

We track the carbon savings from every tote we recycle. Reusing an IBC tote instead of manufacturing a new one saves approximately 18 kg of CO2 emissions. We publish our cumulative impact numbers and update them regularly.

The Bigger Picture

The IBC tote industry produces millions of new containers each year globally. Many of those containers are used once or twice and then discarded. The environmental cost is enormous: raw material extraction, energy-intensive manufacturing, transportation emissions, and ultimately, landfill space.

By creating a robust secondary market for used IBC totes, we reduce demand for new container manufacturing. Every reconditioned tote we sell is one fewer new tote that needs to be produced. Every recycled tote is material that stays in the economy instead of being buried underground.

We encourage every business that uses IBC totes to think about the full lifecycle of their containers. When you buy used or reconditioned, you save money and reduce your environmental footprint simultaneously. When you sell or recycle your used totes through us instead of discarding them, you contribute to a cleaner planet.
